Who is Pete?
Some people have asked who Pete is and where is his secret surf bank? Well, I can’t give much away on the surf front (sorry!), but I can give you a great reason to support this little venture.
5 people are diagnosed with brain cancer in Australia each day. Brain cancer kills more people under 40 than any other cancer and more children than any other disease. Pete passed away in 2013 from a brain tumour. He was a legendary guy and is dearly missed.
If you check in on Instagram (@petesbankthreads) you will see a running tally of donations made from Pete’s Bank Thread sales to Australian brain cancer charities so far.
Who does your art for the tees?
Not me! I am very fortunate to work with my friend Crystal Tate who is a multidisciplinary artist based on Gumbaynggirr Country, Mid North Coast NSW. Usually, I email Crystal an idea for a new shirt and she uses her wonderfully creative brain, iPad and a design app called procreate to bring the tee to life.
